Fitness Activities

There are many different fitness activities that you can do with your students.  Always remember that the goal should be to develop adults who have a desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle their whole lives.  With that in mind, HOW you introduce fitness activities is incredibly important.  

Teachers and students working together to come up with personal goals that are achievable, yet challenging is an essential part of the learning process for life long fitness.

Here are some ideas that can help to measure success and growth through fitness activities.

Walking is one of the most common forms of exercise well into adulthood.  It can help students to have understand the benefits of walking and to get an idea of how much walking is recommended each day.

Heart Rate Zones and Intensity Levels

These first pictures can help students learn how to regulate their level of intensity when taking part in an activity.  They are well suited to elementary students.  Have students tap the appropriate photo on their way out of the gym or classroom when they have completed an activity.
