Policy 7501 - School Administrative Entitlement


The Surrey Board of Education recognizes the importance of educational leadership at the school level, and will provide funding for school administration in its annual operating budget.
Principals and vice principals provide leadership in schools to foster continuous improvement in teaching and learning. They are charged with organizing, supervising, and managing schools, as well as establishing educational direction through instructional and curriculum leadership. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe learning environment for the school community.
Principal and vice principal entitlement for each school, as well as the amount of administrative time assigned to these positions will be determined by the superintendent in accordance with the board’s budget provisions, contractual obligations, and the regulations to this policy.
