Surrey Board of Education re-elects chair and vice-chair

Trustees Laurie Larsen and Terry Allen will continue to serve as the Surrey Board of Education's chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively, following their re-election at Wednesday evening's board meeting.

Each November, the board conducts an election for the chair and vice-chair for the coming year, in accordance with Policy #2915 and Regulation #2915.1.

"The Surrey Board of Education believes that a position of leadership must be selected in a fair and equitable manner, therefore, each year the positions of chairperson and vice-chairperson will be elected from among the trustees," reads the policy.

Allen nominated Larsen for chair, who accepted the nomination and was voted in unanimously by the rest of the board. Likewise, Larsen nominated Allen for vice-chair, who accepted the nomination and was also unanimously elected.
