B.C.’s updated K-12 communicable disease guidelines
The B.C. government has released updated Provincial Communicable Disease Guidelines for K-12 Settings, reminding families how to stay healthy and reduce the spread of communicable diseases, including COVID-19, in the coming school year.
Measures for protecting students, staff and families include staying up to date with vaccines, practising health awareness, and staying home when sick – including if you have a fever, cough, rash, diarrhea or vomiting.
The guidelines were revised in line with updated guidance from public health and in collaboration with the BC Centre for Disease Control, Indigenous rightsholders and education partners.
