Covid Tests
Please note that we still have free Covid tests that are set to expire in May. If your family would like one, please drop by the office.
In response to a growing student body and a desirable turf field, we are organizing a schedule for students in Gr. 3-5 on certain days. Please see the schedule below if you have a child in Gr. 3-5 and are unsure what days/times they will have access to the turf.
Also, please make sure your child is not coming to school with cleats on as this does not maintain safety for all on the soccer field at recess or lunch. We would appreciate all families talking with their children about safe play expectations during a friendly soccer match.

A reminder to families that if your child(ren) will be away to let us know by calling the school at 604-597-0858 or emailing coyotecreek@surreyschools.ca and stating the child’s first and last name as well as grade and teacher. This helps us every morning to ensure that we have all of our students accounted for. Thank you for your support with this.
Staff Parking Lot
Ms. Keller and Ms. Hillen have been busy connecting with parents who continue to park in our parking lot. We are hoping this will come to an end as we have seen staff members returning to school from field trips around 2:00 in the afternoon without parking spots to park in. This is a safety hazard for all as many staff help to transport students and these students are not able to exit the car and enter the school safely.
Please respect our parking lot guidelines so that all students and staff can enter our school safely.
Snow and Winter Weather
As temperatures drop and we start to see snow in the forecast, it's important for parents, guardians, students and staff to know the district's severe weather procedures for announcing school closures, delayed openings or cancellations.
All schools in the Surrey School District will remain OPEN, except under extreme circumstances. Only cancellations, closures or delayed school openings will be announced. Except under extreme circumstances, no announcement will be made that schools are open.
Any districtwide closure or delayed school opening will be announced on the Surrey Schools website and individual school websites, as well as communicated on the district's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
An announcement will be made by 7 a.m. at the latest, based on the best information available at that time.
Make sure you follow Surrey Schools on social media and book mark the district website!

** Student safety is our first priority and a shared responsibility. As always, parents and guardians may choose to make other arrangements if they don't feel it is safe to travel to school. Students will not be penalized for such absences. **

Financial support to make school more affordable for families that need it most.
In late August, the provincial government announced $60 million in one-time funding to school districts in B.C. – including $7.385 million to Surrey Schools – to make school more affordable for students and families.
Our district has now received this funding and has allocated amounts to all of our schools. Moving forward, these funds will be used to support families struggling with the rising cost of living due to inflation. We can use these funds at our school to ensure students can continue to participate fully in school, despite challenging financial situations. These funds can be used to help with school supplies, food and clothing costs, and additional fees so that students in need can take part in activities, such as field trips.
Families are encouraged to reach out to principals, teachers, or their school office staff if any financial support is needed for school-based supplies or activities.
