Track and Field

Welcome to Track & Field (April 28 to May 22, 2025)

Track & Field is an incredible opportunity for students to stay active, build friendships, and develop lifelong skills—both physical and personal. With multiple events and coaching support, students learn to set goals, manage their time, and celebrate both personal bests and team success.

Track & Field Age Groups & Events

Our Track & Field program is open to students in Grades 3 through 7, and is divided into three age groups:

    • Tyke – Grades 3 & 4

    • PeeWee – Grades 5 & 6

    • Bantam – Grade 7

Each age group will receive tailored coaching and have opportunities to train in age-appropriate events. Students can choose to focus on one or several of the following:

    • Sprints & Relays (all groups) – Build explosive speed and teamwork.

    • Long Distance (all groups) – Boost endurance and mental focus.

    • Long Jump / Triple Jump (Tykes & PeeWee/Bantam) – Improve power, technique, and coordination.

    • High Jump (Bantam only) – Learn vertical jumping form and confidence.

    • Shot Put (all groups) – Build strength and proper throwing mechanics.

All students are encouraged to try different events to find what they enjoy and where they excel. Practices are designed to be fun, inclusive, and skill-building for all levels.

This program encourages students to lead healthy, active lifestyles while developing a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. It fosters team spirit and school involvement, creating a supportive community where students can thrive. Through consistent practice and guidance, the program provides a safe and structured environment for skill development across a variety of athletic events. With dedicated coaches, supportive teammates, and a wide variety of events, there's a place for every student to shine.

Our Goals for You:

  • Develop athletic skills and body awareness

  • Build self-confidence through progress and effort

  • Strengthen teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit

  • Experience the excitement of competition in a fun, inclusive environment

  • Learn to set goals—and crush them

Every practice builds confidence, resilience, and teamwork. Students will be expected to have consistent practice attendance to qualify for the Track Meet. After the first three weeks of practice, coaches will select two boys and two girls in each age category to compete at the Track Meet. Preference will be given to athletes competing in more than one event due to limited bus capacity.
