Terry Fox Run – October 1 & 2, 2026
Dear Parents/Guardians,
École Salish Secondary will be holding our 2026 Terry Fox Run on October 1 and 2. This event is an opportunity for our students to come together as a school community, honour Terry Fox’s legacy, raise awareness, and support cancer research. Funds raised through our event will support cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation.
Run Schedule
Thursday, October 1
Block A – Grade 8 students (not on the away retreat)
Friday, October 2
Block A – Grade 8 students (not on the away retreat)
- Block B – Grades 9 & 10
- Block D – Grades 11 & 12
Along with the run, students will be able to participate in several fundraising activities, including a concession, toonie toss, toonie drive, and photo booth.
Concession prices:
- Chips – $2.00
- Soda – $2.00
- Candy – $2.25
- Mini Freezies – $1.00
Students are encouraged to bring a small amount of money if they would like to participate in these activities or make an additional donation. Students in grades 8 and 9 will also have an opportunity to complete a “Who are you running for?” card to recognize someone who has been affected by cancer.

There is no required donation to participate. The Terry Fox Run is about participation, community, and continuing Terry’s Marathon of Hope. The Foundation describes its school runs as inclusive, non-competitive events that raise funds for cancer research.
We encourage students to come prepared for the weather and wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear for walking or running.
