💬 Welcome to the Performing Arts Department!

Choreographers and dancers, playwrights and actors, composers and musicians  . . the Performing Arts department encompasses a range of disciplines. We recognize the importance of artistic development in the individual and society. This development includes creative artistic expression, technique, knowledge of the classics, a contemporary perspective, understanding of the forms, and the discipline required of all artists. It implies also an understanding and appreciation of an integrated arts program as well as of the arts of various cultures and peoples. Looking toward the future, our Performing Arts department at Ecole Salish's main goal is to keep the arts active by performing in our school and in our community.  We will continue to bring as many opportunities for our students in their chosen Performing Arts program. We will help improve their skill, knowledge and appreciation of the arts.

✅ Graduation Requirements

For the graduation program, students are required to take an ADST or FINE ARTS course at the Grade 10, 11 or 12 level as part of their overall program. However, there are no SPECIFIC courses required.

Dance 8 (DNC 8)

Move, groove, and express yourself through hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, and cultural dance styles while learning performance basics.

Have fun building confidence and creativity through acting, improvisation, and teamwork in this lively introduction to theatre.

Jazz Band 8 (MU 8JB)

Groove to the sounds of jazz while learning to improvise, perform, and collaborate in a creative musical ensemble.
