Learning Languages, Exploring Cultures

Learning an additional language helps students develop communication skills, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Through International Languages programs, students strengthen their ability to connect with diverse communities while developing skills that support lifelong learning and global citizenship.

Surrey Schools offers a variety of language-learning opportunities that allow students to explore new languages, cultures, and perspectives while working toward graduation requirements.

Language Learning Opportunities

The following International Language programs are offered in Surrey Schools:

French programs begin in elementary school, while Spanish, Japanese, and Punjabi entry-level courses are available at the secondary level. All language programs align with the B.C. Curriculum and may contribute toward graduation requirements.
