Core French
Building Confidence in Canada's Second Official Language
Core French provides students with opportunities to develop communication skills in French while exploring language, culture, and global perspectives. Through speaking, listening, reading, and writing, students build confidence using French in meaningful and authentic ways.
In Surrey Schools, Core French is offered as a second-language program for students in Grades 5-8 and continues as an elective option in Grades 9-12. The program aligns with the B.C. Curriculum and supports students in developing language proficiency while fostering intercultural understanding.
