To improve students’ critical thinking skills, resulting in improved scores in reading comprehension and mathematical problem solving
To increase the meaningful use of technology as an integral part of the learning environment for students at Surrey Centre:
students will learn to research and critically evaluate information utilizing resources from the internet
students will create works including stories, poems, art, multimedia presentations using digital equipment and computers to enhance their product
students will exchange ideas and information with other students via the internet

Focus on teaching self regulation through programs such as MindUp
Student leadership highlighted through activities such as Student Council, School Spirit Days, and the Buddy program
Improve student numeracy by using varied means to access learning
Improve student literacy by incorporating guided reading in our primary classrooms
