At Salish, our Science Department is dedicated to nurturing curiosity, discovery, and critical thinking. We believe science is not just a collection of facts — it’s a process of exploring how the world works and how we, as learners and innovators, fit within it.

From understanding the building blocks of matter to uncovering the complexities of living systems and the vastness of the universe, our science courses invite students to ask meaningful questions, design experiments, and develop the skills to analyze, interpret, and communicate their findings. Through hands-on labs, field experiences, and collaborative inquiry, students learn to think like scientists — observing carefully, testing ideas, solving problems, and drawing connections between theory and the real world.

Our diverse range of senior courses allows students to dive deeper into areas that spark their interest — whether it’s the dynamic processes that shape our planet, the chemistry behind reactions, the physics of motion and energy, or the intricate systems of the human body. Each pathway emphasizes scientific literacy, ethical practice, and an appreciation for the ways science impacts technology, society, and the environment.
