PALS (Parents As Literacy Supporters)
  Newton Elementary Kindergarten Teachers would like to invite you to participate in 5 PALS sessions for parents and their preschool aged children (there is no charge for each session).  Parents and children will work together alongside Newton's Kindergarten staff while enjoying these informative workshops. PALS is designed to support early learning through a series of play-based activities, developing children's reading, writing, and math skills while building a connection between home and school.  PALS sessions are for both parents/caregivers and their children to attend.  At the conclusion of each session, families will receive a selection of learning materials, supplies and/or books to be used at home.  Please note: instruction will be provided in Punjabi and English to accommodate our diverse community.The following are the tentative dates of each PALS session:
1.     January 27nd         ABC's and Learning
2.     February 27th       Early Math
3.     March 10th Learning to Write 
4.     April 21th             PALS/Ready Set Learn
5.     May 19th               PALS/Welcome to K

1:00  Eating light snack together in the library
1:15  Discussion with adults/children at play with teachers
1:25  In classroom working together, adults and children
1:55  Debrief/Children's snack time (provided)
2:10  All together, free literacy giveaways for all children
2:15  Home time
