Principal's Message
This Week at Lord Tweedsmuir
Thursday October 9, 2025
Good morning Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary,
I hope all Panthers have had an excellent week of learning, friendship, fun and challenge. We are now settled into our first semester at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary, and our school is humming with activity. Great thanks to all students and staff for your dedication to learning, your compassion and support for others and your positivity and school spirit. We are all truly blessed to belong to our caring community of excellence. Way to go Panthers!
On Monday, we celebrated World Teacher’s Day with our staff. This was an opportunity for our Admin team to visit each staff member, give them a little treat to start their day, and express our gratitude for the difference they make in the lives of our students. We are so fortunate to benefit from the caring professionalism of all our LTSS educators. The work we do together is so important… and every member of our LTSS staff should be very proud. Thank you!
This week, I had the chance to drop by and say “hello” to a few classes. Students in Ms. Watts’ Woodwork 8 class were making 3D puzzles. The students were focused, enjoying the project, and learning excellent new skills! Well done, Panthers.
I also stopped by to visit a grade 8 Home Economics/Textiles class. Students were learning how to operate a sewing machine and were creating pin cushions. Our Panthers were highly engaged, focused on their work and enjoying the creativity and new skills of this fun project. Excellent work!
Special thanks to all parent and student drivers for your care and cooperation in our attempts to reduce traffic congestion on school property. We appreciate your efforts in dropping off your children a couple of blocks away from the school and avoiding entering the parking lot at the beginning/end of the day. This makes a big difference in helping to protect the safety of our students. Thank you.
It is an important time of learning for our students. At this time of year, I am reminded of the central role our school community plays in the lives of our students. I am confident that Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary will continue to thrive as we support and educate the children of Cloverdale. Thank you to all students, parents/guardians, staff and friends of our school. Our work together, in partnership, will directly influence the future of our community and nation. Let’s go Panthers!
Have an excellent Friday and a safe and happy Thanksgiving long weekend. We’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday morning.

Traffic and Student Parking
All Panthers are reminded that traffic around the school and parking on school property will be very busy with our increased enrollment and Extended Day schedule. All student drivers are reminded that it is very important to drive with care and attention while on or near school property. Safety is our first priority. Please drive safely and responsibly, be aware of pedestrians, and follow all traffic regulations.
If possible, all families are asked to consider alternative transportation options. Please walk or bike to school if possible. It would also be helpful if students are dropped off a couple of blocks away from the school and vehicles do not enter our school’s parking lot.
Please note that this year, students are only permitted to park in the Student Lot on the right side of our parking lot near our Portable classrooms. Students are not permitted to park in the Staff Lot.
All students wishing to park on school property must apply for a Parking pass. Application forms may be picked up at the office.
Parking passes must be displayed on your car’s windshield at all times while on school property. Parking privileges will be revoked for any students not following our parking regulations or for unsafe driving.
Thank you for your help and cooperation in responding to our increased traffic challenges and protecting the safety of our community members.
