Tuned in Parents
Parents and Caregivers of Salish Secondary!
Want to understand what your teenage child may truly be experiencing as they navigate this tumultuous stage of life?
Listen to a diverse group of 10 to 12 students from a neighboring school as they openly discuss their experiences and coping mechanisms related to stress, peer relationships, social media, and substance use. Gain valuable insights into what they appreciate from their parents and areas where they may wish where different.
This is a powerful experience that helps parents to be more tuned in to how their own children might be experiencing teenage life and to reflect on their parenting approach.
Parents will attentively listen for understanding during the youth conversation, remaining silent. At the conclusion, they will have the opportunity to share one appreciation and one takeaway they'll bring home.
Food and light refreshments will be offered.
Start time is 5:45pm ending approximately at 7:45pm.
