Hockey Night at AHP Matthew

Hockey Night at AHP Matthew took place after school on March 7 and was a big success. Over 150 students and parents gathered in our school gym to take part in a hockey filled night of fun. Thanks to generous donations from Vancity, The Hockey Shop, Safeway, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Boston Pizza and others, many participants left with a door prize. The evening was organized by Ms. Ayles grade 6 class and our Global Awareness leadership students. We raised over $400 (not including our continuing raffle sales), which will be used to support Division 6's Kiva projects (students donate funds for micro loans that support individuals in the developing world) and a local homeless organization. Thank you to our student leaders and Ms. Ayles for their hard work.
