Message from Surrey Schools

Dear Parent/Guardian,
On Monday evening, September 16th, information was submitted to the PSST (Protecting Surrey Schools Together) website about threats to student safety circulating on Snapchat. This information was circulated amongst multiple students at multiple schools.
Surrey Schools immediately engaged the RCMP who - through a thorough investigation - determined the threat did not pose a credible risk to student safety. School will be in session for all Surrey students this morning.
Thank you to the many students who forwarded this message to their principal, parent, or trusted adult, or reported this on PSST so we could deal with this appropriately. Please know that that the PSST website is an immediate and important way for students and families to bring any messages and threats to the attention of their school community and RCMP.
Please also be aware that younger students may have seen this post on social media or heard about it from an older sibling, so please discuss online safety with your child as necessary.
