Student Accident Insurance
Each year, schools receive requests for financial assistance from parents/guardians after a student is injured at school. Surrey Schools does not provide accident insurance for student injuries that occur on school property or during school activities, including extracurricular sports. Parents/guardians are responsible for any costs associated with a student’s injury that are not covered by MSP (Medical Services Plan) or their own extended health benefits.
We strongly encourage parents to consider student accident insurance to help cover unexpected injury related expenses. For convenience, Surrey Schools provides information about two private insurance programs—insure my kids and Study Insured Student Accident Insurance—that offer affordable coverage options. Full details about each plan are available on the insurers’ websites.
