2026-27 REGISTRATION FOR NEW IN-CATCHMENT STUDENTS (this opens Jan. 12, 2026!)

Please read All information below

1.  Use the  SCHOOL LOCATOR TOOL  to confirm whether your address is in the Semiahmoo catchment. 

2.  If your address is in the Semiahmoo catchment, please have all of your documents prepared to upload at the time of registration. The following are the required documents for registration at Semiahmoo Secondary:

Part One: Required documentation (must be valid and current at time of registration).

1. Photo identification for the parent or guardian (Driver’s License, Passport, photo BC Services Card, BCID card, Indigenous documentation).
2. Guardianship documentation naming the parent or guardian (Birth Certificate, a Legal Guardianship or Custody Order, immigration or court documents)
3. Evidence of birth date for the student (Birth Certificate, Passport/NEXUS Pass, Canada Immigration Document, Permanent Resident Card, Court Order, or other government-issued document).
4. Canadian citizenship status for the parent or guardian (Canadian Birth Certificate, Citizenship Card or Certificate, Passport, Permanent Resident Card or Confirmation of Permanent Residency, or Refugee Claimant Document). Families with temporary immigration status must provide an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) document: Work Permit or Study Permit.

Part Two: Evidence of residence for the parent/guardian in British Columbia (valid and current at time of registration).

1. BC government-issued photo identification with address
2. When there is no government-issued photo identification, the Principal determines address of residence based on two documents that show the name of the parent/guardian:

• Property assessment
• Utility bill (hydro, gas, cable, internet, mobile phone)
• Vehicle Insurance/Registration
• Signed Residential Tenancy Agreement (RTB-1)
• Home or tenant insurance policy
• Notarized Landlord Letter (if informal tenancy)

All new applications for the 2026-27 school year must be submitted ONLINE via the Surrey School District's online registration system. The link is provided below. If you require assistance in a language other than English, there is a 'Translate' option at the top of the web page, or the school can arrange for staff from our Welcome Centre to assist. Our Welcome Centre staff can support in a number of languages including Punjabi, Chinese, Arabic, Tagalog, Spanish, Korean and more.
