Kindergarten lottery applications now open! Apply by Feb. 20

Online applications are now open for the kindergarten lottery for select 2026 Programs of Choice at Surrey and White Rock elementary schools.

The Programs of Choice kindergarten lottery system is for students hoping to enter the Early French Immersion, Montessori, Intensive Fine Arts, Traditional, EKOLogy and Xw’epiteng Elementary programs in September 2026.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. For parents or guardians applying for a lottery spot in one of these programs, first register at your local catchment school before Friday, Feb. 20.

Once the online application process has closed, a random automated draw will take place to assign available program spaces. Starting March 2, schools will then notify parents directly if their child has been offered a space. Parents must then confirm within 48 hours whether they accept or decline the offer. If a space is not offered, the student’s name will be placed on a waitlist maintained by the school.
