Athletics, Clubs and After School Programs

Lena Shaw is host to a number of programs that help support children and families in our neighbourhood.

Athletics

Our students are invited to participate in a variety of athletic activities throughout the school year. Some sports are school-based and some involve meets, games or play days with other Surrey schools at various locations.

We appreciate the ongoing support from our coaches, teachers and staff, volunteers and parents/guardians as well as all our drivers!

CLUBS

Leadership

Our Grade 7 In-School Leadership Program runs throughout the course of the school day and is a great way for students to give back to their school community while creating leadership opportunities for students.

Some examples of ways the students give back to their community:

Recycling Team: Helps recycle the juice boxes where the money is returned back to the school.

Announcement Team: Grade 7 students do the morning announcements everyday.

Assembly Team: Leadership students create engaging assemblies for the school community.

Pride Club

For those students who are interested in Grades 4-7

Meets every other Wednesday at Lunch in the Library.

Lunch Monitoring

All Grade 6 and 7 classes are a part of the Lunch Monitor Leadership Team.   Students volunteer to spend a portion of the lunch hour in classes supervising and supporting younger students.  This is a very important Leadership Team at Lena Shaw.

Grounds Crew

Classes help keep our school grounds clean by picking up garbage around the school area.

After School Programs

We have some after school programs to help support our learners in their physical, social, emotional and intellectual development in partnership with Community Schools.
