Harold Bishop Youth Credit Union

The Harold Bishop Youth Credit Union (HBYCU) opens on Friday, Oct. 27th from 12:15-12:30 pm!

Students heard from our 2017/18 Board of Directors at our last assembly.

What is the HBYCU? The Harold Bishop Youth Credit Union is a student bank that collaborates with the Guildford Vancity Bank.  The HBYCU acts like a bank where students can deposit money and save for the future.
How do you open an account? You can pick up a form at the HBYCU (set up in the open area and by the French room) on opening day or at the office. Bring the form home to complete with your parent or guardian and return it to the school and you have opened your account!
How does it work? When you deposit money to the HBYCU the money is sealed and is taken to the local Vancity. You will receive a statement in the mail of how much is in your account. When you want to withdraw money from your account, you can go to a Vancity near you.The longer your money is kept in your account, the more it will grow interest.
Have questions?  Feel free to conact Ms. Sam at the school or stop by the office.
