Welcome Hornets!
Dear Frank Hurt Families,
My name is Mike Moloney, and I am very excited to be joining the Frank Hurt Secondary community as your new principal. As a parent of two children in the Surrey School District, I know how exciting, and sometimes a little nerve-racking, the start of a new school year can be. I look forward to learning more about Frank Hurt and working together with students, families, and staff to ensure every learner feels safe and supported.
I would also like to take a moment to thank Mr. Brian Tait for his years of dedication and leadership at Frank Hurt. His commitment to students, parents, and staff has left a lasting impact, and I am grateful for his support during this transition.
We are thrilled to welcome the Class of 2030, our new Grade 8 Hornets! We hope you are excited about the move to secondary school and are looking forward to exploring the new opportunities that await you at Frank Hurt.
A special “Welcome Back” is reserved for our graduating class, the Class of 2026. As the graduating class, you have a unique and vital role to play in the life of our school. You can and should provide leadership and a sense of purpose for the student body. I encourage you to make this year a productive and meaningful experience—both for yourselves as individuals and for our school community. You each have tremendous potential. Continue to work toward your future and leave a positive legacy through your actions.
In this newsletter, you will find information about the first week of school, along with other resources to help you prepare for the year ahead. Please take some time to read through carefully, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.
For now, enjoy the final days of summer! We look forward to welcoming all students and families back to Frank Hurt and wish you much success in the year ahead.
See you soon,
Mike Moloney
