Learner Support Team (LST)
The Learning Support Team (LST) program is designed to provide in-class and tutorial support to students in academic courses who are struggling to meet course objectives. The LST model emphasizes collaboration among educators, systematically coordinating efforts and expertise to enhance student achievement.
At Fleetwood Park Secondary, the LST works closely with classroom teachers to:
- Identify students with learning needs
- Plan appropriate interventions
- Teach and assess for success
Support is provided through a variety of strategies, including:
- In-class assistance
- Small-group pullouts
- Collaboration with teachers
Some students may also be offered an LST Support Block, where they can receive additional help with classwork.
Referrals for LST support may come from:
- Students
- Teachers
- Parents
- The School-Based Team
