Congratulating Mr. Vincent Gabel on his well-deserved retirement

Congratulations, Mr. Gabel!

It is official! Please join us in celebrating and congratulating Mr. Vincent Gabel on his well-deserved retirement.

On behalf of the countless students, staff, and families whose lives you have touched over the years, thank you for your dedication, passion, and commitment to making Fleetwood Park Secondary a better place. Your impact on our school community will be felt for generations to come.

Vincent is truly an original Dragon, beginning his career at Fleetwood Park in the school's inaugural year, 1994-1995. Throughout his remarkable career, he taught every Technology Education course offered at the school, spending much of his time inspiring students through Drafting, Engineering, Electronics, and Animation. His enthusiasm for these subjects helped launch many students toward successful careers in technology and design.

Beyond the classroom, Vincent devoted countless hours to enriching student experiences. He founded and led the school's VEX Robotics Club, mentoring students and taking teams to competitions throughout the Lower Mainland. His passion for innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

Vincent's contributions also extended far beyond technology education. For more than 25 years, he was a dedicated coach and leader in both Cross Country and Track and Field, not only at Fleetwood Park but throughout the Surrey School District. His commitment to student athletics, sportsmanship, and personal growth helped shape the experiences of countless young athletes.

As he begins this exciting new chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude for his years of service, leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication. Thank you, Vincent, for the positive difference you have made in so many lives and for helping build the strong tradition of excellence that defines Fleetwood Park.

Congratulations on your retirement. We wish you happiness, good health, and many exciting adventures in the years ahead. And remember ….. Once a Dragon, Always a Dragon!
