2026 Summer Learning registration now open!
Registration for Surrey Schools’ Summer Learning full credit academic courses is now open for secondary students, with full credit and refresher (previously preview/review) registration now open.
The secondary registration dates are as follows:
- April 7 – Full credit and refresher registration opens at 9 a.m. for current secondary students
- June 21 – Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. for both full credit and refresher courses
With one of the largest summer learning programs in the Lower Mainland, the district’s Summer Learning program offers dozens of courses every year for secondary students. This year’s offerings include the following subjects at various grades:
- English: English, Literary Studies, Literary Studies & Composition, New Media, Creative Writing, English First Peoples
- Languages: French, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish
- Math: Math, Foundations of Math, Workplace Math, Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Foundations & Pre-Calculus
- Physical Education: Physical Education, Active Living, Fitness & Conditioning
- Sciences: Science, Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Anatomy & Physiology
- Socials: Social Studies, B.C. First Peoples, Exploration of Social Studies, 20th Century World History, Law Studies, Social Justice
- Trades/Specialty: Automotive, Culinary, SFU Film Academy
- Humanities 8/9

Refresher courses are available to Grade 8 and 9 students who have taken the course already and want to increase their knowledge in preparation for the next grade level. Refresher courses provide a basic overview of course materials rather than the full curriculum. Students who finish these courses will not receive a letter grade and the course will not appear on their transcript.
When registering, students will also have the opportunity to choose the location of their course at one of the following Summer Learning sites:
- École Earl Marriott Secondary (full credit and refresher)
- Frank Hurt Secondary (trades – automotive)
- North Surrey Secondary (full credit and refresher)
- École Panorama Ridge Secondary (full credit and refresher)
- Princess Margaret Secondary (full credit and refresher)
- Queen Elizabeth Secondary (full credit and refresher, trades – culinary)
- École Salish Secondary (full credit and refresher)
- Simon Fraser University Surrey Campus (SFU Film Academy)
Course offerings may be subject to change based on enrolment.
Kindergarten to Grade 6 students may attend summer learning by staff referral for courses on literacy and numeracy, Early French Immersion and Late French Immersion. Grade 7 students will receive information on a transitions program for students entering Grade 8, offering an opportunity to get familiar with their secondary school before September. More information is available from your child’s classroom teacher or school principal.
