Earl Marriott Theatre Company is back!

I am so thrilled to be back and working on live theatre with our creative and dedicated students here in the EMS Theatre Department. We have a very exciting year of LIVE production ahead of us. There are lots of opportunities to audition or to come volunteer to help with ticket sales and other behind-the-scenes jobs. See Ms. Radcliffe in the theatre if you have questions, or email her at:  radcliffe_c@surreyschools.ca

2021-2022 Productions

One Act Play Festival

This is our longest tradition in the EMS Theatre Company.  Our One Act Festival is a collection of short plays directed by and even written by EMS Theatre students.  Working with Ms. Radcliffe, selected Grade 12 Theatre students will be casting and producing 4 or 5 delightful short plays featuring students from all grades. Everyone is welcome to audition!  The plays will be rehearsed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm.

The show will run November 30, December 1 and December 2, 2021.

One Act Festival AUDITIONS:

  • Tuesday, September 28 and Wednesday, September 29
  • Sign up for a time outside room 119.
  • Prepare to perform a 1 minute, comic monologue to show the directors your best acting skills.
  • Even if you are not cast, don't be discouraged!  Try again for our mainstage production or volunteer to help out.

Mainstage Production

This year, EMS Theatre Company will be producing a full-length play.  We are proud to be one of the longest running school theatre companies in Surrey and beyond. Next year's show will mark our 45th year of major theatre productions. That is a milestone to celebrate!

The show is not yet officially announced but it will be in December.  Once again, this will be an opportunity for everyone to come out and audition or volunteer to help with.  Auditions will likely be held in December and rehearsals will start in January.

More information and details will be forthcoming. Watch for announcements around the school or come see Ms Radcliffe in the Theatre if you have questions.

Drama Club!

This year, we will be hosting a casual and fun Drama Club on Fridays at lunch.  The goal is simply to invite students who are interested in theatre to come have lunch and play some theatre games together. We might get brave enough to do some improv and even create scenes as time goes by.  Drop in on Fridays if you are interested.

EMS Theatre Clothing

We have EMS Theatre hoodies, t-shirts and masks for sale in the Theatre. See Ms Radcliffe if you are interested. Hoodies - $35  Long Sleeve T-Shirts - $20  T-Shirts - $15 Masks - $8
