Welcome to Kindergarten
May 30th is our Welcome to Kindergarten Event. We are welcoming all children who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. Please come with your child to meet other parents, children and the Kindergarten teachers Thursday May 30th at 12:45!
June 4th is our Track Meet! We wish all our participating atheletes well as they head to Bear Creek Park for the day's events. If you are able to come and join us we would appreciate it as we are in need of support!
RBC Race for the Kids
We are very excited to announce that
Green Timbers Elementary
will be participating again for their 4
year as a school team at RBC Race for the Kids on Sunday, June 2, 2019.
This wonderful event is held annually as a part of the BC Children's Hospital's Miracle Weekend Telethon and raises funds for childhood cancer programs in addition to mental health initiatives at BC Children's Hospital. Chances are most of us have been touched by the life-saving care of BC Children's Hospital.
This year's event takes place on Sunday, June 2
at 9:00 a.m. in Vancouver at Queen Elizabeth Park. It is a fantastic family event, where participants run or walk a 5 km or 2 km Fun Run, followed by a carnival for the kids including live music, face painting, crafts, games, and fresh fruits and veggies.
It is easy to register at bcchf.ca/race and register your family. Make sure to select
'Join a Team'
and sign up as a part of the
Green Timbers Elementary Cancer Cops
team. If you want to have our school name printed on your RBC Race for the Kids t-shirt, make sure to register before May 15
. Please note transportation and supervision of students is the responsibility of the family. There will be a clearly designated team meeting spot where the Green Timbers Team will meet for the team photos and warm-up.
Our goal is to recruit
team members (including students/parents/siblings/others) and to raise a minimum of
- let's work together to make this happen!
Thank you for supporting such a worthy cause, and hopefully we will see you out on Sunday, June 2
