35th Annual BC Japanese Speech Contest

Dear BC & Yukon Japanese Language Speakers:

The Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver and BC Japanese Speech Contest Organizing Committee are pleased to announce that registration for the 35th Annual British Columbia Japanese Speech Contest is NOW OPEN.

The contest will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Asian Centre, UBC.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for students learning Japanese as a foreign or second language to showcase their language skills in a challenging and rewarding context.

Admission is FREE and will be live streamed online for public viewing.

The registration deadline is 5pm Friday, February 3, 2023.

A list of the contestants who pass the preliminary screening will be posted on the Consulate’s website by 5pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
