Frank Hurt Theatre - Stingworks Update
Our one act showcase in the fall was a success, with a full house to boot! From that, Kailley R.'s play was selected by our guest adjudicator to represent Frank Hurt in the Surrey One Act Festival at L.A Matheson this Feburary. Kailley along with her cast and crew will be performing the play on Feb.19th to a guest adjudicator from Douglas College and will have a chance to be selected to represent all Surrey schools in the BC Drama Intensive this April.
In addition, Abdul K.'s play was scouted by a local Vancouver filmmaker, who is currently working with Abdul to produce a short film around his project. Abdul's script will be carefully edited to fit film standards, and then will be produced professionally within the next few years.
We are also submitting two original scripts by Abdul and Tanvir (Gr.12) to the Youthwrite competition, where they have a possibility of being selected from hundreds of BC theatre students for a chance to produce their plays at the ABCDE Drama Festival later this school year.
We are so proud of these students and are thankful for the work of the teacher, Ms. Hall.
