Halloween For Hunger
The results of the HungerCount 2011 survey show food banks across Canada helped 851,014 separate individuals who received food from a food bank in March 2011; while this is down 2% from 2010, it remains 26% higher than in 2008 and is the second highest level of use on record. In our own communities, many people face hunger as a daily reality. One of Free The Children’s local campaigns, We Scare Hunger, gives young people the opportunity to help end hunger in their own communities.
We ask every one of our students and staff members to bring a can of food to school between Wednesday, October 24th and Wednesday, October 31st to be donated to our local Surrey Food Bank. Thank you for your support of “We Scare Hunger”!
