What documents are required for student registration?
Part One: Required documentation (must be valid and current at time of registration).
- Photo identification for the parent or guardian (Driver’s License, Passport, photo BC Services Card, BCID card, Indigenous documentation).
- Guardianship documentation naming the parent or guardian (Birth Certificate, a Legal Guardianship or Custody Order, immigration or court documents)
- Evidence of birth date for the student (Birth Certificate, Passport/NEXUS Pass, Canada Immigration Document, Permanent Resident Card, Court Order, or other government-issued document).
- Canadian citizenship status for the parent or guardian (Canadian Birth Certificate, Citizenship Card or Certificate, Passport, Permanent Resident Card or Confirmation of Permanent Residency). Families with temporary immigration status must provide an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) document: Work Permit, Study Permit, or Refugee Claimant Document.
Part Two: Evidence of residence for the parent/guardian in British Columbia (valid and current at time of registration).
- BC government-issued photo identification with address
- When there is no government-issued photo identification, the Principal determines address of residence based on two documents that show the name of the parent/guardian:
- Property assessment
- Utility bill (hydro, gas, cable, internet, mobile phone)
- Vehicle Insurance/Registration
- Signed Residential Tenancy Agreement (RTB-1)
- Home or tenant insurance policy
- Notarized Landlord Letter (if informal tenancy)
