AP 107 - Political Activities in Schools
Background
The Surrey School District No. 36 (the “District”) recognizes that political activities should neither be organized in schools nor take place during the school day.
Procedures
| 1. | This procedure does not apply to the following:
a. | Mock elections and the use of names of political parties in connection therewith;
| | b. | The use of school facilities by political organizations outside of school hours;
| | c. | The discussion and debate in classes of current issues;
| | d. | Visits by the Prime Minister, the Premier, Senators, M.P.s or M.L.A.s in their capacity as representatives of the public, and representatives from major political parties who may be invited to speak to classes provided there is an equal opportunity for all parties; and
| | e. | Visits to the Legislature sponsored by non-political groups.
