34 Surrey Schools students selected for summer university STEAM programs with Shad Canada
Thirty-four students from eight Surrey secondary schools will be spending a month at various universities across Canada this summer after being selected for programs with Shad Canada.
Hosted in partnership with 20 Canadian universities, Shad Canada is a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) and entrepreneurship program for students in Grades 10 and 11 that offers an opportunity for students to live on campus, attend seminars, labs and workshops, and interact with faculty and experts.
The 34 students – from Elgin Park, Fleetwood Park, Fraser Heights, Grandview Heights, Guildford Park, École Kwantlen Park, Queen Elizabeth and Semiahmoo secondary schools – are among more than 1,700 students from across the country to earn a spot with Shad.
