30 Surrey Schools students selected for summer university STEAM programs with Shad Canada
Thirty students from eight Surrey secondary schools will be spending a month at various universities across Canada this summer after being selected for the ShadOnCampus and ShadAnywhere programs.
Hosted in partnership with 20 Canadian universities, Shad Canada is a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) and entrepreneurship program for students in Grades 10 and 11 that offers an opportunity for students to live on campus, attend seminars, labs and workshops, and interact with faculty and experts.
The 30 students – from Earl Marriott, Elgin Park, Fraser Heights, Grandview Heights, Guildford Park, École Kwantlen Park, École Salish, and Semiahmoo secondary schools – are among nearly 1,000 from across the country to earn a spot with Shad.
