Parents
Parent Responsibilities to Support Student Success at SAIL
At SAIL, students benefit from a flexible and personalized learning environment that combines online and/or blended instruction with teacher support. To help students thrive in this model, parent and guardian involvement is an important part of the learning process.
Parents are expected to provide a structured and supportive home environment that encourages consistent engagement with coursework. Because SAIL emphasizes self-paced and independent learning, students rely on strong routines, time management, and accountability—areas where parental guidance is key.
Families should regularly monitor student progress, communicate with teachers when needed, and ensure that students are staying on track with their individualized learning plans. Supporting attendance for required in-person sessions, assessments, or check-ins (when applicable) is also important.
Additionally, parents play a critical role in fostering motivation, helping students balance school with other commitments, and reinforcing the importance of meeting academic expectations. Given that SAIL students often complete work outside of a traditional classroom, ongoing encouragement and oversight at home help ensure success.
By partnering closely with teachers and staying actively involved, parents help create the conditions for students to fully benefit from SAIL’s flexible and enriched learning opportunities.
