Our School

Learning Without Limits!

We believe that all learners can be successful.

We are committed to providing a caring and diverse learning community that fosters respect, integrity and personal achievement in an open and innovative environment.

Tomorrow’s school today!

Success     Community     Innovation      Individuality      Communication     Reconciliation    Diversity

Surrey Academy of Innovative Learning (SAIL) is both a Provincial Online School that offers full-time and part-time online learning programs as well as a blended interdisciplinary school that offers a STEAM and STEAMX program. In a changing world, students need to be independent learners, critical thinkers, collaborators, innovators & contributors. SAIL students embrace and celebrate diversity, which fosters innovation by bringing together varied perspectives, knowledge, and experiences that fuel creativity and lead to more effective, unique solutions.

SAIL is committed to Reconciliation and anti-racism education, which means we encourage students to reflect, build cultural awareness, and help them understand the lasting impacts of colonization. In the words of Jo Chrona, a Ts’msyen speaker, education consultant, Indigenous education advocate, and author, "we can strive to understand how these truths affect our lives today, and how we can address the legacies of the past and make changes in the present to move forward".

As part of our work in Reconciliation, SAIL is committed to following the First Peoples Principles of Learning that guide our BC curriculum and to increasing the presence of Indigenous languages, cultures, and histories in our courses.

Transforming Curriculum

Currently, many post secondary institutions and employers are seeking learners with diverse skill sets. SAIL helps young people and adults to gain the necessary skills, such as problem solving, leadership, and digital citizenship to be successful in all careers.

  • Student learning is supported by a collaborative team of educators and strong parent engagement.
  • Students have access to a creative learning environment with digital tools.

There are NO tuition costs to Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants residing in British Columbia. All students must be actively living in British Columbia.  Students taking online courses at SAIL use their own learning devices with an Internet connection.
