Work Experience

Work Experience is a 4 credit elective course open to students in Grades 10 to 12

Work Experience is taken outside of the timetable, usually after school, weekends and/or during school holidays (Winter break or Spring break).

Work Experience must be completed between September 1st and May 31st.

Students complete 100 hours of unpaid employment in an area of their interest.

Employment opportunities for work experience students typically occur in Customer Service entry level positions, either in a retail or restaurant setting.

To apply for Work Experience, students must pick up a WEX application from the Career Centre. The application deadline is in early September. Students can put thier name on a list for the following school year's Work Experience course. To sign up, come to the Career Centre.
