"Experience an unforgettable adventure by joining our group for a 12-day stay in Spain and Italy; Spring Break 2020!

You’ll gain an intimate knowledge of two historic and cosmopolitan cities—Barcelona and Florence—while enjoying conducted trips to attractions such as Park Güell, Sagrada Familia, The Uffizi Museum and (The Colosseum) in Rome.

Students stay in twos or threes with carefully selected host families, thus immersing themselves in the culture in ways not possible by staying in hotels. Programs in language, art and history are specifically tailored to students’ needs and levels.

We Take Care of Everything. (CSLI) From airline tickets, consent forms, and payment forms —to host families and hotels, entrance fees, all meals, all transportation, and all the tips.  There is always a CSLI representative present to help supervise as well as to ensure that all aspects of the tour are running smoothly and as planned."

From Mrs. Manning
As a teacher who has lead many students on trips to Italy and Spain with CSLI, I have found it a marvelous way to live and learn the histories of the areas and the arts and cultures of their peoples.  Students always enjoy their time with their Italian/Spanish parents and come away with a new understanding of how people live and, historically, how cultures evolve.  Florence magically takes us to the time of the Renaissance with its art and architecture when we stand in the same place that famous artists have. To touch what they have touched and hear their stories.   In Spain, the fragrance of the orange blossoms are overwhelming as well as the ocean breezes.  The art of Gaudi and Picasso are sites not to miss.  Our tour guides have always been the most professionally trained in their areas of expertise and know their areas as locals would."

Florence Italy and Cadiz Spain Spring 2017

We are pleased to be offering a 14 day trip during Spring Break 2017 to Cadiz Spain and Florence Italy.

Florence is one of the most beautiful cities to visit.  Being the heart of the Renaissance its streets are abundant in history, art and architecture.  Students who take this trip are given the opportunity to learn the language first hand through International House and visit numerous cathedrals, palaces and museums housing some of the most famous works of art in the world.  We will go back in time to the Renaissance of Michelangelo, Donatello and Botticelli.

While in Italy we will also visit Rome, tour the Coliseum, the famous Trevi fountain and see the Vatican.

In Spain we will stay in Cadiz, the oldest and most southern city in Western Europe, travel to Seville and Cordoba, the intellectual center in Europe in the 10th and 11th centuries and visit an ancient Jewish Synagogue (museum).  The tour also offers an optional trip to Tangier, Morocco.  The history of Tangier is very rich due to the historic presence of many civilizations and cultures starting from the 5th century BC.

Art has not only been used for advertisement or a way to make money; it has been used as a large outlet for stress.  With heavy work-loads, responsibilities and endless multi-tasking, training the brain to focus in depth supports a life of healthy living.  The arts are also a great way for students and children to learn how to express themselves. Language is not necessarily our first choice of communication.  Before we could write there were pictographs expressing out world around us.   Research has also shown that educating children in art strengthens students' critical thinking, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
