Welcome to the Career Education Department

Earl Marriott offers four fantastic co-op programs for senior students:  Liberal Arts (formerly Humanities), Mechanics, Science, and Skilled Trades. For details about our co-op programs , see the brochures located under the Documents tab, or drop by the Career Centre.

The Surrey School District has partnered with many post secondary institutions (BCIT, Kwantlen,VCC to name a few) to offer students in Grade 11 or 12 the opportunity to take one of many different District Partnership Red Seal trade programs.  Students will leave high school having completed Level 1 training with great apprenticeship opportunities.  And did we mention that tuition is covered by the Surrey School District? For more information, speak to one of our Career Facilitators.

Students currently working in a trade (such as line cook, carpentry, hairdressing, etc.), may be eligible to receive school credits, a $1000 award and be registered as an apprentice through our Youth Work in Trades (apprenticeship) Program.  Please speak to one of our Career Facilitators for more information.

We also offer opportunities for students to attend specialty programs throughout the year.  These programs are typically one week in length and are focussed on specific careers.  Programs that are popular with students include RCMP Youth Academy and BCIT Biotechnology Career Awareness, amongst others.  Students should listen for announcements or drop by the Career Centre for more information.

We may also be able to help you find volunteer opportunities.

Visit the Career Centre. You'll be glad you did!
