Earl Marriott offers three fantastic co-op programs for Grade 11 students: Humanities, Science and Mechanics (which can also be taken in Grade 12). We also offer a Skills Exploration Program. For details on our co-op programs and the Skills Exploration Program, see the brochures located under the Documents tab, or drop by the Career Centre.
The Surrey School District has partnered with many post secondary institutions (BCIT, Kwantlen,VCC to name a few) to offer students in Grade 11 or 12 the opportunity to take one of many different District Partnership red seal trade programs. Students will leave high school having completed Level 1 training with great apprenticeship opportunities. And did we mention that tuition is covered by the Surrey School District? For more information, speak to one of our Career Facilitators.
Students currently working in a trade (such as line cook, carpentry, hairdressing, etc.), may be eligible to receive school credits and be registered as an apprentice through our Secondary School Apprenticeship program. Please speak to one of our Career Facilitators for more information.
We also offer opportunities for students to attend specialty programs throughout the year. These programs are typically one week in length and are focussed on specific careers. Programs that are popular with students include RCMP Youth Academy, BCIT Biotechnology Career Awareness, and the Art Institute’s S.W.E.A.T., amongst others. Students should listen for announcements or drop by the Career Centre for more information.
We may also be able to help you find volunteer opportunities.
There are lots of reasons to visit Room 322.
