As you prepare for your child's/children's return to school, please consult the School Supply lists below and purchase modest amounts of essential items to begin the school year. We want to ensure you start with some items, and can add onto supplies throughout the year as needed.
To help prevent the spread of the Corona Virus, and to track misplaced items, please LABEL ALL PERSONAL ITEMS (school supplies, water bottle, pencil boxes, clothing) with your child's name. Thank you!
Please visit the surreyschools.ca website for updates and the recent video presentation from our Superintendent, Dr. Jordan Tinney. The video clearly explains the different options (face to face or blended transition model) for supporting your child's learning this school year.
If you are choosing the Blended Transition model, please note you need to register through surreyschools.ca by 4pm on Sept. 8th. Students will have an online orientation the week of Sept. 14th, and the program begins Sept. 21st.
As the district plans for a safe transition back to school in September, an email and survey link was sent out to all Bothwell parents and guardians August 24th. If you did not receive this, please email the Principal, Leah Christensen (firstname.lastname@example.org). Thank you.
We will share any new information and school opening plans as soon as they are available.
To ensure a safe and smooth transition back to school, students across the district will be attending for one hour on September 10th, and one hour on September 11th for Orientation days. We will share safety protocols, school routines and other important information, ensuring students feel prepared and at ease for the year ahead.
For children in grades 1,2,3 and 4, they will come to school from 9am-10am both days.
For children in grades 5,6, and 7, they will come to school from 11am-12noon on both days.
Students will attend full days in their learning groups starting September 14th.
Kindergarten gradual entry schedules will be sent to families shortly.
We can't wait to see you and welcome you back Bobcats!
Thank you for your patience and understanding. This is a most unusual transition for our youngest learners. The district has created guidelines to ensure a gradual, safe entry for our Kindergarten children. Our teachers are creating a schedule for each child, and we will share this with you via email the week of August 31st. In the meantime, please plan for your child to attend for one hour their first day on either September 10th or the 11th, and then slowly and gradually build to their first full day on September 29th. We are keeping classes small until children are placed in their learning cohorts on September 29th. More information will be sent to you as soon as possible.
The first steps into Kindergarten represent an important milestone in a student’s school journey. We look forward to welcoming your child into our school and sharing in this milestone with you.
As we look ahead to the 2020-2021 school year, responding to COVID-19 will be central to the planning for school start-up in September. While schools typically share schedules for gradual entry into Kindergarten in June, the rapidly changing landscape in relation to COVID precludes us from providing families with schedules at this time. Once we have received direction from Ministry regarding September, schools will be sharing gradual entry plans with families. We anticipate that this will occur in late August through school websites.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to celebrating your child’s entry into kindergarten in the fall.
