Discovery Program is based on 21st Century Learning and project-based inquiry.
Children are part of a multi-age classroom that encourages social responsibility, peer-mentoring, community leadership. Children develop a sense of family with their classmastes. They become a "family of learners" who support and care for each other.
Children are invited to take charge of their learning, by making choices at centers and with project work. This sense of "ownership" and self-direction is the foundation for lifelong learning.
Students are viewed as unique individuals. The teacher differentiates instruction for each child based on student-specific goals and objectives that meet individual learning needs and abilities. Each student will explore their own educational path, rather than adhere to a "one size fits all" approach.
Inquiry-based learning is promoted where students learn to develop essential inquiry and research skills to foster learning in competencies, as well as their own personal interests and passions.
Self-regulated learning is emphasized where students learn to be accountable for identifying how they learn, selecting tools and materials they need to learn, setting goals and identifying strategies for learning, and maintaining confidence to support both short and long term success.
