2024-2026 IB Diploma Programme Applications

IB Applications will be open on January 10th, 2024 at 8am. Applications will close on January 24th. 2024 at 8:00am.

When the application period is open, all grade 10 students in Surrey are eligible to apply -- you do not need to be a current student of Johnston Heights. Please review the video before applying. The digital application includes the following requirements:

Applications will require the following:

  • Letter of intent 
    1. Write a maximum of 300 words to respond to the following prompt:
    2. The Learner Profile outlines the attributes to which we work towards every day. Using examples from your life, describe the ways in which you excel in one of the learner profile attributes. Also, identify an attribute that you wish to develop further and how you think the IB DP will help you to do so.

  • Record of marks for grades 9 and 10, you can ask your home school's office to provide these for you. 
    1. Final report card for grade 9
    2. Semester 1 or Term 1 report card for grade 10
  • Record of attendance for grades 9 and 10, you can ask your home school's office to provide these for you.
  • Reference 
    1. EMAIL ADDRESS for your alpha counselor at your school.
  • IEP (if applicable)
    1. Send with your filled in application.
  • Research the pathway you are considering for university. This involves going to the university websites you plan to apply to in grade 12 and looking at the requirements for entrance into specific faculties.
  • Course selection completed for chosen pathway (pathway must contain 3 HL and 3 SL courses).  
    1. Pathway 1 – Natural Sciences 
      • University pathways include: Engineering, Physics, Math, Astronomy, Computer Science
    2. Pathway 2 - Life Sciences
      • University pathways include: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, Pharmacy  
    3. Pathway 3 – Humanities
      • University pathways include: English, Fine Arts, History, Languages, Pre-Law, Business, Journalism, Political Science
