Curriculum & Innovation Helping Teacher SD#36
Communicating Student Learning (Elementary)
I am a proud Surrey teacher, UBC graduate student and mother to two amazing little humans. I believe in the power of student ownership and authentic parent engagement as we strive to keep schools valuable and relevant in a world where change is a constant. As a lifelong learner I enjoy facilitating workshops, working alongside teachers and engaging in professional dialogue where we consider the purpose of grading, how learning can be made visible and the role of teachers in the 21st century. Keep Calm and Learn ON.
Communicating Student Learning (Secondary)
I strive to live as I teach and teach why I live. Like all learners, I am constantly navigating a world where change is the only constant. My goal as an educator is to help break the cycle that prevents us from progressing forward and to remove barriers that stifle curiosities. I am an advocate of many, a proud puppy parent to @ourdogjudith, and most likely a Hufflepuff.
District Principal SD#36
Communicating Student Learning (K-12)
I am proud to have worked in the Surrey School District since 1993 as a teacher, administrator, and now District Principal. I love working with kids of all ages and I am passionate about building the capacity of students, educators, and parents. I believe in the power of connectedness and collaboration, the potential and uniqueness of every learner, and the need to innovate in order to remain relevant to those I serve. In my leisure time, I can be found spending time with my wife, 3 children, and dog. I enjoy running, hiking, photography, and camping.
