Here's to the Completion of a Successful School Year at Berkshire Park!

Wishing everyone a wonderful summer holiday!

The month of June was a busy one and seemed to be over in the blink of an eye.  Here's a few highlights from the month: 

• We ventured out into the community on a number of field trips, including Fleetwood Water Park, Hawthorne Park, Hemlock Park, Tynehead Park, and Greenaway Outdoor Swimming Pool.
• Students energetically skipped to bring attention to heart health with the Jump Rope for Heart event.  Thank you to everyone who was able to fundraise for and donate to this important cause.
• We listened to and celebrated our grade seven band musicians at a concert that included familiar sounds of "Let's Go Band!" and the Star Wars theme song.
• Divisions 1 and 2 held a very successful Young Entrepreneurs' Fair on June 16th.  The gym was abuzz with excitement and many of the students sold out of their product.  Thank you to families for sending some spending money with the children so that they could support our young entrepreneurs. 
• Everyone cheered, ran, and enjoyed a fun filled sports day in the sunshine.  It was good to see some family members in attendance.
• On June 22nd, we came together for our year end assembly where we recognized our school athletes and coaches, said "Thank you!" to our dedicated PAC, and said farewell to the staff who are leaving Berkshire Park.  We also enjoyed a slideshow of student photos.
• Our Grade Seven Farewell assembly followed on the 23rd.  Fortunately, many families were able to join us in the gym and we celebrated the accomplishments of the students, and wished them well with their transition to secondary school.

Most students ran out the door on June 23rd with the final report card for the 2021-2022 school year in hand.  If your child's report card is still at school, please come by to pick it up at the end of the summer.  The office will be reopening in Monday, August 29th.

In preparation for the 2022-2023 school year, school supply lists have been posted on the website and emailed out to individual families.  We have also posted a calendar at a glance one the website so that you can plan ahead.  If you have not done so already, please download the app on our new school website so that you can receive notifications and stay up to date with Berkshire Park.  The app is located at the bottom of the website.  Once you have downloaded it, please subscribe to Berkshire Park Elementary and the Surrey School District.  You will receive notification on your device when a new post, event, or alert is shared from the school or the district.

September 6th - First day of school for children, 10:00 - 11:00 am

September 7th - Full day of school for grades 1-7, 8:35 am - 2:30 pm
