The Surrey School District has been working through the summer to develop a return-to-school model for this fall that best supports students, parents, teachers and staff.
Our restart plans are in line with Ministry of Education expectations that all students in B.C. return to in-class learning in September 2020. Districts were directed to outline their Stage 2 Restart Plan for the 2020-21 school year using information available in B.C.'s K-12 Education Restart Plan-Expectations for the K-12 Sector at Each Stage summary and the B.C. Centre for Disease Control's COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for K-12 School Settings.
"As we gear up to welcome students and staff back to our schools, we appreciate families have had considerable anxiety and many questions," says Superintendent Jordan Tinney. "Under the guidance of the provincial health officer and Ministry of Education, we have worked to make this the safest return to school possible. We appreciate your ongoing understanding and patience as schools refine their scheduling and procedures."
