Celebrate Principals & Vice-Principals Appreciation Day -- every day!

We appreciate our principals and vice-principals every day, but May 1st is Principals & Vice-Principals Appreciation Day, celebrating our school leaders for the outstanding work they do year-round.

While this year's PVPs Appreciation Day falls on a Saturday, we hope our students and staff still take some time to recognize the importance of everything school administrators do to keep our schools fun, safe and running smoothly more than 180 school days per year.

thank you word cloud.jpg"This has been an especially challenging year and the leadership our principals and vice-principals have shown has been exemplary," said Surrey Board of Education Chair Laurie Larsen. "We are all grateful for the direction and guidance our principals and vice-principals provide."

"Our principals and vice-principals have demonstrated exceptional care and commitment through a pandemic," said Superintendent Jordan Tinney. "Like many others in the system, there is no adequate way to give thanks but we do hope that the day to day acknowledgements they receive from their school communities will make them feel like every day is principals and vice-principals appreciation day."

With 103 elementary schools, 20 secondary schools and five learning centres, the district has hundreds of principals and vice-principals who oversee day-to-day operations at our schools. From students entering their first day of Kindergarten to Grade 12s looking ahead to post-secondary, our school leaders are a driving force in the lives of our more than 74,000 students throughout Surrey and White Rock.

We encourage all of our students and staff to show their principals and vice-principals appreciation every day – whether it's making a card or just saying thank you! We know they will appreciate it!

For all the work that you do, principals and vice-principals, thank you for your ongoing efforts at all of our schools!
