New student registration
The Surrey School
District is pleased to welcome all new students to our schools. In-person registration is required at the neighbourhood school or
school of choice if space is available (see "Out of catchment registration"
below). The following documents are required at the school when registering:
1. proof of birth date for the student (birth certificate or passport);
2. proof of guardianship (for parents or guardians as shown on child's
birth certificate or other appropriate legal documentation such as landed
immigrant document or guardianship order);
3. proof of citizenship for both the parent and the student (Canadian
birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, landed immigrant document,
permanent resident card, enhanced driver’s licence or enhanced identification
4. proof of residency (purchase or rental agreement, cable, hydro or gas
The school district
recognizes that personal circumstances may make it difficult for some
individuals to complete the registration process. Please discuss
any unique circumstances with the school principal when registering. We
welcome all new students and we are pleased to assist in any way we can.

Children who turn
five years old before Jan. 1, 2016 are eligible to begin school in September 2015.
The same documents listed above for new students must also be provided to register a student for kindergarten.
Registration begins in Surrey schools on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015. To register, contact your nearest

Choice program registration
Surrey Schools offers a number of "choice" programs that challenge students and enhance special skills or subscribe to certain philosophies. Students still receive the regular B.C. school curriculum, but also have an opportunity to extend their understanding and experience.
You do not need to live near the school or in the district to enroll.

Out of catchment registration
As a growing district, enrolment at some district schools is already at, or over capacity. No waiting list can be maintained at the following schools at this time. Please see the school district's
regulations for more details on how the allocation process works. The following schools are unable to accept out-of-catchment registrations (except siblings of current students):
